No analytics or ads: We do not run analytics scripts, advertising networks or third-party trackers.
Basic web connection only: To show you a webpage, your browser automatically sends your IP address and basic browser info to our web host. That is how the internet works.
Leaving our site: When you click a button to play a game on its official website, you leave HoopComet. That publisher's own privacy policy applies there.

SECTION 02 // MINIMAL SERVER LOGS
2. What Data We Process
You do not have to give us any personal information to browse HoopComet. We only process the standard technical server logs that our web host automatically records whenever a browser requests a webpage or picture.
Every time you load any website on the internet, your device must send your IP address so the server knows where to send the page back. The technical log fields recorded by our hosting server are:
We keep no visitor logs of our own. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical request data: IP address, time of the request, the page requested, and browser and device type.
You do not have to give us anything else. We never ask for your real name, date of birth, phone number, home address or payment details, and we do not combine server logs with any other data to identify who you are.
SECTION 03 // PURPOSE & ARTICLE 6(1)(F)
3. Why We Process Technical Logs & Our Lawful Basis
We process those minimal technical server logs for three strictly limited operational reasons:
Delivering the website: routing the HTML, stylesheet and artwork of HoopComet to your browser when you open a page.
Keeping the site secure: detecting and blocking malicious traffic, automated scraping, denial-of-service attacks or unauthorised attempts to interfere with our servers.
Fixing technical faults: diagnosing broken links, server errors or slow page responses so the site works reliably on phones and desktops.
Lawful Basis Under UK GDPR
Our lawful basis for processing this technical data is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR. Our legitimate interests are operating a reliable, safe public website, protecting our infrastructure against cyber-attacks and resolving technical faults. Because only standard transient connection logs are used—and never for marketing or tracking—this processing does not override your rights and freedoms.
SECTION 04 // PROCESSOR & RETENTION
4. Who Receives Technical Logs & How Long They Are Kept
Hosting Provider & International Transfers
We do not sell, rent or trade server logs with anyone. The only recipient of the technical connection logs is our infrastructure hosting provider, acting as our data processor under written data-processing terms:
Hosting Provider, Server Location & Transfer Safeguard: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The site is delivered from Cloudflare's global network, including data centres outside the UK and Canada; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension.
Where technical data is processed outside the United Kingdom, it is protected by a UK adequacy regulation or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses as specified above.
How Long Technical Logs Are Kept
Server logs are kept only for a short, fixed window to allow security monitoring and fault diagnosis, after which they are automatically deleted or overwritten:
Log Retention Period: We keep no server logs. Cloudflare keeps request data only for as long as its privacy policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy) sets out for security and network operations.
SECTION 05 // PECR & DEVICE RESPECT
5. Cookies, Device Storage & Automated Decisions
Zero Cookies & Nothing Stored on Your Device
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), websites must tell you if they store or read information on your device. HoopComet is built to leave zero footprint on your hardware:
No cookies: We set no first-party or third-party cookies of any kind—not even session cookies.
Nothing stored on your device: We do not use localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or browser fingerprinting.
No analytics or tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, tracking pixels, heatmaps or behavioural monitoring scripts.
No third-party content loaded: All fonts, stylesheets, artwork and video on HoopComet are self-hosted on our own domain. Your browser never connects to external font servers, social media widgets or ad networks while you browse our pages.
Following Your Device Theme & Motion Settings
HoopComet respects your device's light or dark theme and reduced-motion settings automatically using standard CSS media queries (prefers-color-scheme and prefers-reduced-motion). Your browser applies these preferences locally on your screen without sending or storing any setting on our servers or on your device.
No Automated Decision-Making or Profiling
We do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling (as defined in Article 22 of the UK GDPR) about any visitor.
SECTION 06 // INDEPENDENT GAME GUIDE
6. Links to External Game Websites
HoopComet is an independent guide. We do not embed games inside iframes on our pages. Instead, each game unit includes a clear button (Play on Official Site) that takes you directly to the game's official website run by its publisher or developer.
Once you click an external link and leave hoopcomet.com, we have no control over that external website. Those external game sites operate under their own privacy policies and cookie notices, and they may use cookies, accounts, chat features or advertising as summarised in our verified facts strips. We encourage you to check the privacy notice on any external site you visit.
SECTION 07 // YOUR RIGHTS & THE ICO
7. Your Data Protection Rights in the United Kingdom
Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data (subject to the legal conditions that apply to each right):
Right of access: to ask whether we hold personal data about you and request a copy of it.
Right to rectification: to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
Right to erasure: to ask us to delete your personal data where there is no lawful reason for us to keep it.
Right to restriction of processing: to ask us to pause or limit how we use your data in specific circumstances.
Right to object: to object to processing carried out under our legitimate interests.
Because we only hold short-lived technical server logs tied to an IP address and time stamp, we usually cannot tell which log entries belong to a specific person unless you provide the exact IP address and time of your visit when making a request.
How to Exercise Your Rights or Complain to Us
To exercise any of your rights, or to make a privacy complaint directly to us, email [Contact email]. We take every privacy query seriously and we acknowledge all complaints within 30 days.
Your Right to Complain to the Information Commission (ICO)
